Hello! Let me tell you a little about myself.
I’ve been crocheting since I was 9 years old. At my summer camp they had a class in crocheting. When I found out I could make my own stuffed animals, I was sold! After that first summer my Nana built on those skills and also taught me to knit. Over the next few summers I developed my skills even more. I’ve been crocheting ever since.
I’ve also been in Fandom since I was about that same age. From making up Star Wars fanfic with my best friend before we even knew what fandom was, to reading X-Files fanfic with my friends, to jumping from fandom to fandom from then on. When I like something, I dive deep. I like the show? I am going to read the books, or the comics. I’m going to find a tumblr dedicated to it, and read all the most kudos’d stories on Ao3.
The way the dolls got started was with my friend Em. She saw the cover of Cable & Deadpool where Cable was de-aged and had a Deadpool doll. She said she was going to try to sew it. “I bet I can crochet that,” I replied. And that was the impetus for the original Dollpool.
